OI Applications

The applications listed below are part of the Ocean Informatics Information Infrustructure. As part of the OI Exchange Initiative, some of these applications are built on reusable APIs, intended to be both shared across communities and integrated with local applications.

Data Applications

This flyer, Ocean Informatics Architecture: Recognizing Multiple Data Types, outlines the broader system architecture into which the applications below are structured.

DataZoo

Datazoo is a central repository for environmental scientific data and metadata of local projects. As an information system, it provides data aggregation, ingestion, description visualization, download, integration, and standardized data exchange through the following three application interfaces:
  1. Data access interface
  2. Management interface
  3. Resource interface

Zooplankton

These five locally developed web-applications provide queriable interfaces to zooplankton data from Mark Ohman's lab at Scripps.
  1. ZooDB - Zooplankton Database (1951 - ongoing)
  2. BTEDB - Brinton and Townsend Euphausiid Database (1951 - ongoing)
  3. MEDB - Marinovic Euphausiid Database (1999 - ongoing)
  4. CEQuI - Comprehensive Euphausiid Query Interface
  5. Brinton Euphausiid Plot Gallery

Management Applications

PZ Manager

PZ Manager is a management web interface into the Ocean Informatics personnel backend, People Zoo. The People Zoo API is used across different applications such as Data Zoo and supported web pages.
