Searching Studies

Within the Data section of DataZoo, click in the Studies item in the left-hand navigation menu.
From this page you can search through the different studies defined in the DataZoo system, each with associated metadata. This associated metadata provides another direction from which to start in order to arrive at a particular set of datasets or a single dataset.
Basic searching
The basic search box contains four fields used for finding studies.
- The two fields Study and Study Lead(s) refer to the two fields shown in table (displaying all studies at first) below the search form. The Study field contains the name given to the study following the local convention of [3 letter project abbreviation]-YYYYMM The Study Lead(s) are representative researchers for each project involved in a particular study.
- The Date begin and Date end fields are used to bound your results temporally. Dates are entered in the MySQL date format of YYYY-MM-DD.
Advanced searching
In addition to the fields shown above you can also filter your searches by selecting with particular types of platforms involved or that conducted a specific type of sampling
Note: Checking a box limits your search with that particular variable. If, for example, you selected ship under the platform types section, the returned results would contain only studies that involved collection platforms that were ships. That is, if a study involved at least one ship it would be included in the results, barring any other limiting variable selections.
