SCUBA divers, especially those in law enforcement and emergency medical service (EMS) operations, currently have limited options for underwater lighting and safety/rescue beacons.

Divers conducting search and rescue missions face hazards seldom encountered by recreational divers. But even recreational divers share a need to be seen while diving.

The PowerFlareTM Electronic Beacon offers divers the following benefits:

* Increased Visibility
By placing the PowerFlareTM unit on the diver, visibility will be increased. PowerFlareTM units will flash 24 hours and recharge quickly to be ready for the next use. Various light colors are available (red, blue, green, white, etc.) Dive teams can affix PowerFlare beacons to each diver. Dive instructors can set their beacon to a different flash pattern, for example, so students can identify the instructor, etc.

* Compact
PowerFlareTM units are about the size of a hockey puck. They can mount just about anywhere on the diver or his equipment.

* Light Weight
Even though PowerFlareTM units are extremely rugged (can be run over by big rig trucks), they weigh less than 24 ounces.

* Versatile
In addition to general diver safety, PowerFlareTM units can be used to mark scenes for rescue/recovery, as floating landing zones for helicopters, or other beacon applications. PowerFlareTM units are rated to 300' depth (rechargeable units; 50' for LC model).
