The applications listed below are part of the Ocean Informatics Information Infrustructure.
Data Systems
This flyer, Ocean Informatics Architecture: Recognizing Multiple Data Types,
outlines the broader system architecture into which the applications below
are structured.
DataZoo
Datazoo is a central repository for environmental scientific data and metadata of local projects.
As an information system, it provides data aggregation, ingestion,
description visualization, download, integration, and standardized data exchange
through the following three application interfaces:
Zooplankton
These five locally developed web-applications provide queriable interfaces to zooplankton data from Mark Ohman's lab at Scripps.
- ZooDB - Zooplankton Database (1951 - ongoing)
- BTEDB - Brinton and Townsend Euphausiid Database (1951 - ongoing)
- MEDB - Marinovic Euphausiid Database (1999 - ongoing)
- CEQuI - Comprehensive Euphausiid Query Interface
- Brinton Euphausiid Plot Gallery
Ichthyoplankton
Web query interface to CalCOFI at Southwest Fisheries Science Center's ichthyoplankton database.
Management Applications
PZ Manager
PZ Manager is a management web interface into the Ocean Informatics
personnel backend, People Zoo.
CV Manager
CV Manager is a web interface to the Ocean Informatics controlled vocabulary database.
Collaborative Devices
Unit Registry
The Unit Registry is a current effort to develop an LTER network-wide
database and web service for scientific units to enable cross-site comparison of methods and data.
Cruise Registry
The Cruise Registry is a work in progress to establish an authoritative list of scientific cruises
and collection platforms for use in cross-database alignment of similar data. The list currently contains
the full set of cruises documented in the CalCOFI at SIO's CTD bottle and CalCOFI at Southwest Fisheries Science Center's
ichthyoplankton databases.
